Clinical Nurse Consultant - Renal


 Country Nursing and Midwifery Incentive Program

The Country Nursing & Midwifery incentive program is available to support new and existing nurses and midwives - across a broad range of patient-facing roles.  It is available to new and existing nurses working full-time, part-time on fixed-term and permanent contracts across 76 select sites. Eligible nurses and midwives may receive between $5,000 and $17,000 paid over 12-months.

About the OPPORTUNITY:

This position provides clinical leadership, education and consultancy to patients and clinical health care professionals and providers internal and external to the position and the region.

Goldfields Renal Service was initially established in 2010 by the Western Australian Country Health Services (WACHS) as part of a suite of programs supporting the Council of Australian Governments (COAG) “Closing the Gap” policy, which aimed to reduce the gap in health indicators between non-Aboriginal and Aboriginal Australians.

The program serves the Goldfields region, the largest region in WA, and home to approximately 58,727 residents who live in Kalgoorlie (the largest regional centre), nine other major regional towns and 17 remote Aboriginal communities.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Demonstrated highly developed communication skills and proven ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Demonstrated experience in the application of continuous quality improvement principles including
  • managing change and the implementation and evaluation of integrated clinical governance strategies.
  • Expert knowledge and application of best practice principles.
  • Demonstrated significant knowledge, experience, and leadership in renal services.
