Fixed Term Temporary Full-time up to 31/12/2025 (with the possibility of extension - not exceeding 3 years in total).
Remuneration package of up to $159,899 p.a., comprising base salary range of $128,701 - $139,732 p.a. (Nurse Grade 7), recreational leave loading (17.5%), and employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%).

About the role
Prostate Cancer Specialist Nurses demonstrate expert clinical Knowledge and advanced clinical problem-solving skills and are accountable for their own clinical practice. The purposes of the Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) – Surgical Prostate Surveillance position is to work as part of the Urology multidisciplinary team in providing support and surveillance to prostate cancer patients through their cancer journey.
The Prostate Cancer Foundation provides support and funding towards Professional Development activities and networking events.
Skills and experience

  • Proven ability to provide expert nursing leadership and coordination within a Prostate Cancer environment.
  • Sound knowledge of contemporary nursing practice and theory and the ability to apply relevant legislation, guidelines and standards.
  • Ability to integrate the strategic direction and priorities for quality improvement into the clinical service, establishing a quality framework.
  • Demonstrated advanced leadership, negotiation, conflict resolution and change management skills to ensure customer focused service provision amongst the multidisciplinary team. Demonstrated high level of communication skills required for problem solving and decision making.
  • Ability to demonstrate ongoing professional development of self and others.
  • Understanding of teaching and learning in the health care environment (adult learning principles) with demonstrated clinical teaching and facilitation skills.
Role requirements
  • Qualification: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory. Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification and registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
  • Highly desirable: Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in an appropriate field is highly desirable. Such experience may be discipline specific or have a service area focus. The recommended minimum entry is the Prostate Care Nursing Course (Latrobe University).
