About the Opportunity
  • Opportunity to work as part of a highly skilled and specialised multi-disciplinary team at Bankstown Mental Health Inpatient Unit (Banks House).
  • The successful candidate will provide coordination, delivery, and evaluation of Clinical Nurse education (including programs) at the unit level and will provide clinical teaching, orientation, skill accreditation and professional development support for all nursing staff and students.
  • The CNE will be responsible for providing compassionate, person centered health care in collaboration with patients, families, carers, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • The Clinical Nurse Educator in consultation with the Nurse Unit Manager will identify, develop, implement, and evaluate education for nursing staff and students working within Bankshouse Unit.
What You'll be Doing
Deliver and evaluate clinical education programs in consultation with Management, Nurse Educators and Clinical Nurse Consultants, to support the delivery of clinical best practice, patient service and enhanced patient outcomes.

How to Apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria as thoroughly as possible. * Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). A post graduate qualification in a relevant clinical field or education post graduate qualification or a combination of education training and clinical experience deemed appropriate by SWSLHD.
  • Demonstrated experience in education/clinical teaching and developing clinical programs based on adult learning principle and understanding or demonstrated understanding of competency-based assessment.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide safe compassionate quality care that is culturally responsive
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team.
  • Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise
  • Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of evidenced based nursing care
  • Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace
