What you will be doing:
The Child Youth and Family HealthClinical Nurse Educator will be coordinating, facilitating, and teaching clinical skill and mandatory training programs, utilising various adult learning strategies. The position mentors and encourages reflective clinical practice to optimise provision of safe, high-quality, trauma-informed, and outcome-oriented care. The CNE facilitates, teaches and evaluates group and individual education programs to support CFH nurses to integrate evidence-based, clinical knowledge and skills into their practice. The position works with the NUMs to support orientation of new CFHN. The position is expected to travel to Child and Family Health centres and education facilities across NSLHD to support staff development in their workplace.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Holds AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse and holds post registration qualifications in adult education, or working towards same, and/or equivalent demonstrated experience deemed appropriate by the employer for a Child and Family Health CNE position. Current NSW unrestricted drivers’ licence and wilingness to use for work purposes.
- Demonstrated ability to apply adult learning principles to identify education needs for individuals and groups and to plan and deliver education programs to address these, using various modalities, instructional methods, facilitation and individual feedback.
- Demonstrated excellent clinical knowledge and ability to practice safe and effective Child and Family nursing care, in line with relevant NSW Health policies, clinical practice guidelines and professional standards of practice.
