Job Description
We are seeking an experienced, flexible, and patient-centred Nurse Educator with a clinical specialty in Perioperative (Scrub/Scout) nursing. In this 0.6 EFT part-time role, you will work closely with the Education Manager, NUMs, Epworth Education Teams, and Perioperative Services Managers. Your primary responsibilities will include providing supervision and education to nurses undertaking post-graduate studies, facilitating internal education programs, and offering support and clinical supervision to graduate nurses, new staff, and students across various surgical specialties.
You will make an impact by:
- Delivering an exceptional patient experience within perioperative services
- Engagement in multi-modal education methods to provide evidence-based and quality learning for staff, visiting practitioners and students
- Encouragement and supervision of clinicians in their professional development to provide high standards of patient care
- Encouraging and role-modelling empathy to patients, families and medical consultants
To be successful in the role you will:
- Be appropriately registered with AHPRA (essential)
- Have experience in perioperative nursing – Scrub/Scout
- Hold post-graduate qualifications in Perioperative nursing
- Be able to demonstrate current experience in clinical education in the perioperative environment.
- Hold post-graduate or Masters qualification in education (desirable)
- Have excellent written, verbal & presentation skills
- Have a contemporary knowledge of best practice in nursing care
- Be highly accountable and demonstrate a strong, supportive and engaging style
- Be passionate about patient care and achieving high quality clinical outcomes
