About your opportunity
The ED has established patient flow practices which include Fast Track, Paediatrics, Step down and Streaming areas. These innovations have proven to be very successful in managing daily attendances. The ED also has a Short Stay Unit which is operating as a 16-bed unit.
The purpose of the Clinical Nurse is to provide clinical expertise, support, and education to nursing staff within the unit to ensure best practice and quality patient care to patients of all ages and cultural groups, recognising the importance of individuals and their families.
Skills and experience:
Proven ability to comprehensively assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care at an advanced level within a complex environment.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with team members, patients and other stakeholders, including participation in relevant networks to achieve work unit outcomes.
Ability to provide nursing leadership in the clinical and professional setting including the role modelling of effective communication and problem solving.
Proven ability to use information and reporting systems appropriate to the position in order to achieve outcomes and identify areas for improvement.
Proven ability to provide clinical education and support at an advanced level and demonstrate own professional development.
Role Requirements
Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
Proof of qualification, registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and possession of a current practising certificate.
Highly Desirable: Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in an appropriate field is highly desirable. Such experience may be discipline specific or have a service area focus.
Highly Desirable: Extensive experience in Emergency Department and a current Adult Life Support certificate.
Shift Workers: Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster, which will include participation in an on-call roster.
On call: Appointees may be required to participate in an on-call roster.
This is a Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.

Generous pro rata remuneration package (based on full-time equivalent value) up to $128,435 p.a. comprising and a salary range of $52.86 to $56.60 p.h. (Nurse Grade 6 Band 1)
