Infection Management are seeking a motivated and dedicated Registered Nurse or Clinical Nurse to join the Infection Control team. The position is a 1.0 FTE fixed term contract for approximately 5 months ending September 6th, 2024. The purpose of the role is to provide backfill and provides a fantastic opportunity for nurses with a passion or interest in infection control to gain knowledge and experience within this specialty.Salary range: $52.63 - $56.38 (Registered Nurse Level 2) per hour plus superannuation. - Assist and support all members of the Infection Management team in the delivery of the program
- Utilise computer programs including Microsoft (MS) Office, Infection Control software and hospital patient and pathology management systems
- Undertake risk assessments, surveillance and compliance audits including provision of feedback to staff
- Assist the Daily Coordinator in their role to manage patients across Mater and ultimately learn the DC role independently.
- Acquire knowledge in bloodstream infections, surgical site infections, multi-resistant and significant organisms and become confident in performing healthcare associated infection investigations
- Improving patient safety, through strengthening the workforce and engaging in quality improvement activities.
- Current Registered Nurse AHPRA registration with no restrictions
- Strong interest in infection control & infectious diseases
- High level skills in problem-solving, communication, coordination and time management
- Ability to collaborate effectively with the multidisciplinary team
- Flexibility to work most days and during school holiday periods
- Prior knowledge and experience in Infection Control always desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
