About the Role…
The Clinical Nurse performs at an advanced level of nursing practice and plays an important role in guiding and supporting staff, working in collaboration with the Perioperative Services Manager, Perioperative Coordinators and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
Reporting to the Perioperative Services Manager you will be responsible for the day to day running on the day surgery unit (SSPU) at Toorak Gardens, ensuring that high quality care is provided to patients in conjunction with the Visiting Medical Officers.
The position is on a temporary 12-month contract basis (minimum 0.8 FTE to full time) with negotiable hours.

Essential skills & competencies:
- Significant experience working in a day surgery unit.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
- Clinical educational skills, be able to provide education and support and lead quality improvement activities and be a willing mentor to staff
- An advanced level of professionalism and an innovative mindset
- Relevant post graduate qualifications or be working towards same (desirable)
- Registered as an Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
