The Position
Affectionately known as The Friendlies, we have a rare and exciting fulltime permanent opportunity for a Clinical Nurse to join our close-knit and supportive Unit 3 Surgical team who provide specialist care to our acute post-surgery patients.
This role is ideal for an experienced Clinical Nurse or a Registered Nurse with a proven history of professional development and a demonstrated passion for a leadership opportunity within a surgical unit. We are seeking a team player who has a ‘can do’ attitude and a genuine passion for supporting and bringing out the best in their team.
As a Clinical Nurse, you will not only assist the Nurse Unit Manager to provide expert clinical and patient-centred care, you will also apply critical thinking and develop effective partnerships to ensure high quality service delivery with a commitment to continuous quality and service improvement.

Key Selection Criteria
- Evidence of tertiary qualifications and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Demonstrated acute surgical care experience such as patient management following surgical interventions including general, urological, vascular and endocrinological surgery
- Demonstrated leadership skills to comprehensively guide and co-ordinate a team, provide support, educate and mentor staff
- Motivated and with innovation and ability to work under minimal direction from the NUM
- Self-directed, forward thinking and proactive with a positive mindset and ability to bring high energy and support to a high performing team

Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) Requirements
It is a mandatory condition of employment that some roles within our hospital require you to be vaccinated, and remain vaccinated during your employment, against some or all of the following vaccine preventable diseases; Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping cough), and Hepatitis.
