Job description

The Urology Outpatient Department are looking for a Clinical Nurse to join their team. The Urology Outpatient Department delivers ten consultant led clinics per week for urology patients, and one transplant / dermatology clinic per week. The Department provides specialist surgical expertise in renal and bladder management including cancer surveillance and surgery, obstructive uropathy, andrology, continence, and robotic surgery.

About the Role

The Clinical Nurse (CN) role provides advanced clinical and problem-solving skills, expert planning, and coordination skills in the clinical management of Urological patients/residents/clients with complex care needs, ensuring quality standards are met.

The CN role will be required to demonstrate advanced skills in Flexicystoscopy, Continence and Urodynamics, as well as overall awareness and knowledge in the running of Outpatient clinics.

  • Responsible for and able to function in complex situations while providing support and direction to the healthcare team.
  • Demonstrate a high level of clinical critical thinking and problem-solving skills, applying theory into nursing practice in the provision of best practice.
  • Proactively engage with the nurse leaders and healthcare team to achieve best practice outcomes within the work unit environment.
