What you'll be doing
The Respiratory Scientist is responsible for the provision of high quality care to patients. The position performs a range of respiratory investigations appropriate for the diagnosis and management of patients with respiratory diseases. They are expected to be knowledgeable in the procedures, methodology and theory pertaining to respiratory function testing and take responsibility for routine diagnostic tests and are expected to appraise the results in order to ensure accurate data recording and reporting.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

• Degree in Science from an approved university or college of advanced education requiring a minimum of three years full-time study or such qualifications as the employer deems equivalent.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in respiratory function measurement, preferably in Spirometry, lung volumes, diffusing capacity for carbon monoxide, exercise testing and bronchial provocation tests. Experience in collecting Arterial Blood Gas samples.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment whilst working autonomously to deliver results within specified timeframes set to meet client expectations.
• Commitment to the principles of quality management and continuous quality improvement and to identify, develop and implement quality and service improvement activities.
