We are committed to our vision of 'better health services for the people of western Sydney and beyond' and to the delivery of health care or related services in line with our core values of collaboration, openness, respect and empowerment.What you'll be doingThe primary purpose of this position is to provide psychological assessment and interventions for the provision of optimal outcomes of the Adult Cystic Fibrosis Specialist Service at Westmead Hospital. The role will diagnose and treat a range of behavioural and emotional disorders from or related to physical and mental health. Registration: General Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia, and clinical endorsement with the Psychology Board of Australia or eligibility to progress to Clinical Psychology endorsement status with Psychology Board of Australia.Selection Criteria: * General Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia, and clinical endorsement with the Psychology Board of Australia or eligibility to progress to Clinical Psychology endorsement status with Psychology Board of Australia.
- Demonstrated clinical skills in psychological assessment, case formulation intervention and treatments for patients with psychological disorders who have complex chronic health conditions.
- Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit the target audience including the ability to communicate in a sensitive and professional manner with patients and staff.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and with other service providers to achieve optimal outcomes for patients with Cystic Fibrosis
- Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead, complete and implement quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes and lead ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff.
- Demonstrated high level organisational, prioritisation and time management in an environment of competing clinical demands
- Demonstrated understanding of issues associated with working with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse client group.
- Excellent negotiation, decision making, advocacy skills with high level computer literacy.
