About the role:
The Inpatient Psychology Department has some great opportunities for Clinical Psychologists/Clinical Psychologists in Training, in our adult mental health inpatient units. The Department operates across three hospital sites – The Calvary Mater acute inpatient mental health (at Waratah); the Intermediate Stay Mental Health Unit (ISMHU at Newcastle West) mental health rehabilitation unit; and Morisset Hospital, a longer stay mental health rehabilitation hospital which has both civilian and forensic patients. We are a diverse and dynamic Psychology Department delivering gold standard psychological services across the sites.
We currently have a permanent part time position in mental health rehabilitation and forensics. There will be other upcoming opportunities for temporary part-time and temporary full-time positions within the department. From this recruitment, the successful candidate will fill the current position, and we’ll also create an eligibility list for those opportunities that are coming up in the near future.
The role of the Clinical Psychologist/Clinical Psychologist in training in the inpatient mental health setting is to provide high quality evidence-based psychological services to our patients and consult withing the multidisciplinary team. You will get to do really interesting work with our patients that is meaningful and rewarding. You will also experience a high level of support from the wonderful Psychology team (who are just lovely!) and the department head, including a comprehensive orientation to the role and ongoing support. You will also have training opportunities to support your professional development.

Requirements:
Completion of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council accredited postgraduate clinical psychology qualification of no less than two years full time duration or recognised equivalent, displayed on the Psychology Board of Australia website.
