• Salary Classification: Clinical Psychologist Year 1-5 or Senior Clinical Psychologist Year 1-3.
• Remuneration: Clinical Psychologist $53.23- $64.88 or Senior Clinical Psychologist $67.79-$71.68.

THE ROLE:The Clinical Psychologist is responsible for providing psychological services for adolescent and young adult patients (15-25 years) diagnosed with cancer, or family members or carers of patients with cancer. Patients present with a variety of psychological, emotional, social and medical challenges.For further information, on the Department of Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry readMAIN DUTIES:

• Engage in clinical research.
• Protect the rights of patients while respecting their values, customs and spiritual beliefs.
• Communicate with all key stakeholders, document assessments, interventions and case plans in the medical record.
• Provide evidence-based assessment and intervention of psychological problems for young people with cancer and their families.

ABOUT YOU:

• Interest in psycho-oncology research.
• Able to work proficiently in periods of high demand and activity.
• Ability to participate in hospital based and/or community based multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience in cognitive-behavioural therapy and other evidence-based interventions in individual and group settings.
• Completed or near completion of post-graduate Clinical or Health Psychology program at a recognised University. (Clinical Psychologists should have a master’s degree or higher in clinical psychology or equivalent of no less than 2 years full time study).
• Knowledge of evidence-based psychology practice for the range of psychological disorders and problematic issues commonly occurring in adolescents and young adults in cancer.
• Psychologist authorised to practice by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist.
