What you'll be doingThe Parramatta Early Childhood Assessment Team (PECAT) provides multidisciplinary diagnostic assessments of children with neurodevelopmental disease/disorder.The clinician (Clinical Psychologist/Neuropsychologist/Educational Developmental psychologist) is responsible for the provision of neuropsychological services to children and young people with a history of developmental neurological disease/disorder or acquired brain injury.Neuropsychological services include:
  • formal developmental/cognitive, functional, +/- Autism assessments using appropriate up to date standardised, norm referenced measures;
  • feedback and education to children and young people (as appropriate) and their families;
  • Preparation of a report that summarises results and provides a formulation and recommendations based on all key information from the assessment process.
  • Provision of psycho-education to the children, families and where appropriate to schools or educational facilities & other community agencies,;
  • feedback to clinical team members;
  • working closely with other members of a multi-disciplinary team providing holistic assessments;
  • Full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia and full endorsement with the Psychology Board of Australia in the area of Clinical or progress to same
  • Minimum 2 year full time equivalent accredited post-graduate Masters or Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology, Neuropsychology, or Educational Developmental psychology
  • Experience in the neuropsychological assessment and formulation of management plans for children with a history of developmental disorder and neurological conditions or acquired brain injury and provision of consultative services.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively within a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication and organisational skills.
  • Previous experience working within a multidisciplinary team an advantage
  • Previous experience in liaison with schools and community agencies an advantage.
Applicants currently enrolled in a combined Masters/PhD are eligible to apply if they have completed the equivalent of Masters degree requirements as part of the PhD pathway. Evidence of this is demonstrated by a completed PDEC-76 form and cover letter from the University confirming Masters degree requirements have been met.Applicants are eligible to apply if they have completed an accredited Masters degree and are awaiting their graduation ceremony.
