Clinical Research Investigator (Medical Practitioner)

Immediate Start Available - Nedlands, Western Australia

Due to continued growth and expansion, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Medical Practitioner to join a dynamic Clinical Research team.

Full time position available (part time EOI also considered).
 

One Clinical Research (OCR)

OCR is a leader in conducting Clinical Research, specialising in pharmaceutical industry-sponsored clinical trials of new medical therapies for patients with haematological (blood) and solid-organ cancers and chronic diseases (e.g. obesity, diabetes). 

We are seeking an enthusiastic Medical Practitioner to join our clinical team as a Clinical Research Investigator (CRI), working from Monday to Friday, up to full time hours. No clinical trial experience is required for this role.

The CRI will report primarily to the Clinical Trial Manager, and clinically through to the Medical Director. The role will function in up to a full-time capacity, working 75 hours per fortnight on a Monday to Friday roster.

The successful candidate(s) will join a close-knit and dedicated team passionate about optimising patient outcomes in an innovative and progressive private clinical trial setting, engaging with various stakeholders to ensure high-quality and efficiently conducted clinical trials and helping to advance access to better treatments for those with cancer and chronic disease.

Responsibilities will include:

The Clinical Research Investigator (CRI) will:

  • work with the OCR team to provide participants enrolled into our clinical trials with safe and effective patient-centered medical care and oversight;
  • ensure that the rights, safety, and wellbeing of trial participants are respected and protected; 
  • ensure all study-related assessments and activities assigned to them are to be performed and documented in line with protocol requirements and within all local and international regulations and guidelines; and
  • act as a resource and provide clinical support to patients enrolled in clinical trials and OCR staff.

The CRI will be supported by experienced and globally-renowned specialist consultant investigators, as well as a dedicated team of Clinical Trial Coordinators, and Registered Nurses. 

Essential Criteria:

  • Medical Practitioner with Unrestricted General and/or Specialist Registration with AHPRA;
  • Current Medical Indemnity Insurance;
  • Australian citizen or permanent Australian Resident; 
  • Meet the requirements of Good Clinical Practice training within Australia or willing to learn and adhere to these requirements;
  • Current knowledge/skills in clinical assessments of participants;
  • Demonstrated planning and workload management skills with the ability to work autonomously;
  • Good computer literacy. Experience with MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint;
  • Excellent attention to detail, with strong oral and written communication skills;
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving abilities; and
  • Strong commitment to providing quality patient care.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Previous experience in a clinical trial setting will be highly regarded, but is not essential;
  • Significant experience in Oncology or Haematology or General Practice (highly regarded);
  • Demonstrated understanding of ICH-Good Clinical Practice, regulatory, ethical, privacy and other relevant guidelines and legislation relating to clinical trial conduct; and
  • Understanding of quality assurance and risk management within clinical trials and/or healthcare services.
