What you'll be doing
The CNS2 will collaborate closely with Investigators and relevant industry stakeholders to coordinate the delivery of early phase/advanced therapeutics trials and provide care to paediatric trial participants with complex care needs.
The CNS2 is an extended role within the scope of a Registered Nurse that provides safe, compassionate, person-centred care to patients and families of SCHN. Day-to-day tasks may include but are not limited to: participant recruitment; facilitation of participant consent; and study visit conduct through performance of protocol-mandated procedures/assessments; monitoring and escalation of safety events; query resolution and quality assurance activities, preparation of ethics and regulatory submissions; and clinical trial data management.
In addition to the above, the CNS2 will:
- Act as a leader and role model within the multi-disciplinary team at the Clinical Research Centre (CRC) to promote culture and standards that reflect the NSW Health CORE values;
- Exercise extended autonomy of decision making while working closely with senior managers and clinicians across multiple departments;
- Exercise professional knowledge and judgement in providing complex care requiring advanced clinical and Clinical Research skills;
- Undertake senior leadership in the development of Clinical Research nursing practice and service delivery within the CRC.
- Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Relevant post-registration qualifications and at least three years’ experience working in clinical trials.
- Demonstrated evidence of advanced clinical practice and clinical trial coordination, preferably in paediatrics and/or early phase/advanced therapeutics trials.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise extended autonomy of decision making and leadership in the development of paediatric clinical practice and/or Clinical Research practice.
- Highly developed and effective written and verbal communication skills with interpersonal and problem-solving capabilities to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated evidence of contribution to own and team professional development, and ability to act as a resource person and mentor other team members.
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to work in accordance with key underpinning frameworks and principles in clinical trials, including Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and the National Clinical Trials Governance Framework.
- Computer literacy, including experience in using Microsoft Office and other relevant clinical and/or clinical trial data management systems.
