Position Title: Clinical Superintendent – St Vincent’s Hospital Network Sydney
Employment Type: Maximum Term, 12 months
Hours per week: 20 (0.5 FTE)

About the role:
The Clinical Superintendent is a key person who works closely with all members of staff, in particular the Deputy Director Medical Services, Executive Director of Medical services, Basic Physician Training team, Medical Workforce Unit, and Health information services.
The successful candidate work as part of and contributes to an inter-disciplinary team.
POSITION PURPOSE
Involvement with management of Basic Physician trainees across at St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney.
Developing strong working relationships with stakeholders in teaching and training, medical workforce, and hospital administrations.
Developing strong working relationships with health information services team
Act as Medical Coding Lead within the medical services governance structure
Leadership role within medical directorate, involved in JMO management and supervision as determined by the executive director of medical services

Selection Criteria:
Possess, or be eligible to possess, specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA);
Possess Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent.
Demonstrated commitment to teaching at specialty registrar, junior medical officer and undergraduate levels;
Demonstrated superior organizational skills and the ability to coordinate and develop a strong teaching program through to examination stage;
Demonstrated superior interpersonal and communication skills across all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders
Demonstrated understanding of hospital funding models and approach to optimization of activity capture
Demonstrated participation in clinical coding optimization in the hospital
Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries.
