The Lions Eye Institute is a not-for-profit centre of excellence that combines world class scientific research into the prevention of blindness with the highest level of eye care delivery.
This position reports directly to the Scientific Lead non-invasive Intracranial Pressure (nICP) Project, within the Physiology Pharmacology research group.
The successful incumbent will be responsible for managing the ethics documentation and compliance for all nICP Clinical Trials including related photoplethysmography measurement studies.
This role is being offered for an initial 2-year period, working part time over 3 days per week.
Responsibilities will include;
- Ethics and compliance documentation
- Check, lodge and follow up on ethics applications and approvals including amendments, which may include drafting assistance with applications
- Liaise with LEI Clinical Trials team where required
- Coordinate patient clinic, review appointments and liaise with clinic staff regarding this
- Coordinate meetings of the medical advisory and consumer engagement committees
- Oversee data storage and data safety
- Assist in coordination of research meetings
- Handle and pass data through the analysis steps as described
- Prepare nICP reports from individual patient data and send to referring clinicians and research staff
- Liaise with research team regarding optimizing reports
- Assist research team in collation of data and analyses
- Participate in laboratory culture and relevant meetings
Essential Criteria;
- Proven experience within a Clinical Trials environment
- Interest in being part of a new patient service and learning new skills
- Proficiency with computer systems and in particular use of Excel or other spreadsheets
- Experience preparing reports
- Able to set priorities, meet deadlines and demonstrate efficient and effective time management and organisation skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and show initiative
Desirable Criteria;
- Computer coding/programming experience, particularly in ‘R’
- Use of computer image programs like Photoshop
- BSc or similar Bachelors degree
