About the Role
The position involves coordinating and managing three Clinical Trials led by the Department of Psychiatry at Austin Hospital, focusing on therapies for Debilitating Symptom Complexes Attributed to Ticks, psychogenic non-epileptic seizures, and functional neurological disorders. Reporting to Chief Investigator Professor Richard Kanaan, the role requires collaboration across multiple disciplines and is funded by the NHMRC and MRFF.Your responsibilities will include:
  • Trial co-ordination for the Clinical Trials of a new therapy for DSCATT, a new therapy for PNES, and a new therapy for motor FND.
  • Manage the daily activities of the Clinical Trials.
  • Contribute to data collection and analysis, using specialised programs for qualitative/quantitative data assessment such as SPSS
  • The co-production of conference and seminar papers and publications and attendance and presentations at conferences and seminars where appropriate
Who We Are Looking For
You will have excellent written communication skills, the ability to work autonomously with strong organisational and time management skills, and the capacity to engage effectively with stakeholders while managing competing demands and meeting deadlines.You will also have:
  • Academic qualifications and experience in either medicine, mental health, nursing or the health sciences
  • Experience initiating and managing Clinical Trials
  • A demonstrated understanding of working with mental health populations, and a sensitivity and respect for the different needs and susceptibilities with regards to people with Mental Health issues
  • Demonstrated ability in maintaining research data/records.
