As well as providing clinical services PRC also participates in the medical imaging of patients undergoing Clinical Trials (medical research) in many areas of healthcare including cancer, neurological disorders, respiratory diseases, musculoskeletal disorders, and Alzheimer’s disease. PRC’s Research & Development division manages all aspects of our research work.
What is the opportunity?
Our team is growing and there is an opportunity to join PRC as a Clinical Trials Associate on a part time basis, working 22.5 hours per week, 4.5 hours per day, Monday to Friday. This role will be based out of our newly refurbished Subiaco office and occasionally our Osborne Park office.
Our R&D division acts as a bridge between our research partners and our wider organisation to facilitate the imaging of trial patients, to process applications for the imaging of new clinical trial studies, requests for data for research, identifying and solving issues and relaying information to and from clinical trial organisations. You will facilitate the flow of information to all staff involved in the care and imaging of trial patients as well as support adherence to good clinical practice.
Reporting to the Clinical Trials Coordinator your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Process clinical trial imaging applications and applications requesting data for clinical research.
- Collate trial related documentation including study protocols, imaging manuals, ethics approvals, patient consents and waivers of consent and radiation council approval.
- Create all in-house trial documentation including document control and validation.
- Complete training logs.
- Load trial documents into SharePoint (digital portal).
- Act as an initial contact for research partners, fielding calls and emails for support, issues, or information.
- Provide applications to trial partners and potential trial partners.
- Add trial related information to various databases.
- Assist the Research & Development Team with administrative tasks including weekly action/tasks lists.
- Communicate with internal staff for trial related imaging and patient requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of reports to internal stakeholders.
What do you need to be considered?
- At least two years’ experience working in clinical research either as a Clinical Trials coordinator, research associate or research nurse.
- Tertiary qualifications in clinical or life sciences, nursing or relating field.
- Sound knowledge of ICH GCP, local and national guidelines.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail
- Demonstrated teamwork skills.
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills between both internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Sound knowledge of MS Word and Excel
- Ability to provide a national police clearance dated within 6 months or willing to obtain.
Desirable
- Previous experience in medical imaging (however training will be provided to the right candidate)
- Knowledge of SharePoint
