Victorian state government agency based in Melbourne’s CBD.  Your new role

The primary purpose of this role is to support the Cloud and network environments, including general cloud administration, LAN/WAN, firewalls, IT security systems, data centre operations and VoIP system in the Melbourne, remote data centre and Ballarat offices. This includes disaster recovery testing, performance monitoring, security operations, all using industry best practices.

Role and responsibilities:

• Provide second level support services for the cloud environment, LAN/WAN, firewalls, IT security systems, data centres, VoIP, Wi-Fi, remote access, and telephony services.
• Maintain a stable and scalable cloud environment and network.
• Enforce cloud security, network security and intrusion protection.
• Maintain the data centres and associated environmental systems at the Melbourne office.
• Support third party data centre operations.
• Comply with company’s policies and procedures. (Includes ISO / IEC 20000 – ITIL).

 What you need to succeed

• Expertise in the support and maintenance of cloud infrastructure and networking environments.
• Demonstrated skills with cloud environments including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Microsoft Azure or similar.
• Experience in operating system and appliance administration, including Microsoft Windows, Linux, Kubernetes, Docker, Cisco ISE, or similar.
• General understanding of government enterprise security principles relevant to cloud environments, network operation and appliance/system services.
• High-level communication (written, verbal and interpersonal) and negotiation skills to prepare written reports and consult, communicate with and influence others.

Highly desirable

• Cisco CCNA/CCNP Enterprise, AWS Associate/Speciality level certifications.
• ISC2 SCCP/CCSP or equivalent information security certifications.
• Any further formal training in Cisco/AWS/Oracle OCI/Information Security products and services, network design, project management and ITIL.
• Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Business Systems, Commercial Computing, Mathematics, or equivalent subjects.
