This role is based in our Head Office, St Leonards, NSW.  The office is  within walking distance from the train station.  There are plenty of options for lunch and catching up with colleagues or friends after work.  If you are keen on fitness there are multiple gyms and a sports field on our doorstep.
What you'll contribute to
The Cloud & Infrastructure Delivery Team Lead  role is a key role within Group IT’s Operations function and responsible for helping deliver TFA’s cloud & hosted (Hybrid) infrastructure operating model and supporting the adoption of an agile delivery model. 
  
The role is accountable for managing the delivery of the right Cloud and / or hosting services through the design, planning, and implementation of cloud services (public, private, hybrid).  This will require working with project and solution architects and accountability for informing Service Delivery management on progress and performance, and ensuring all work is on-boarded, delivered and transitioned in a consistent manner. 
  
The role will help identify, define, and manage appropriate change as required to keep the Cloud and Hosting services up to date and ensure benefits are realised. The role will also be expected to proactively identify and adopt automation throughout the IT Operations space and look to identify disruptive solutions and service capabilities to help drive a transformation culture. 
  
In moving to a more automated manner for application delivery and support this role will be instrumental to ensure the success of an Agile / DevOps culture. 
  
A successful Cloud Delivery Lead must have a broad knowledge of project management and agile principles. They must have a strategic mind-set as well as be able to lead and develop the team. They must be able to work within Waterfall and Agile frameworks, work as a bridge between the PMO stakeholders and technical Delivery Teams while managing people within a product-based mind-set. 

How you'll make an impact

  • Contribute to the success of building and maintaining a world-class cloud infrastructure team, with key objectives in the areas utilisation, availability, capacity, scalability, and performance.
  • Championing the optimisation of Cloud engineering teams and performance.
  • Participating in the creation and execution of roadmaps that direct the movement between current and future states (services, technologies, sourcing, etc.)
  • Support and champion the change initiative for the IT Operations team through the transition from an on-premise data center model to a cloud-based Data Center as a Service model ensuring team members are engaged and relevant development plans identified and implemented.
  • Collaborating with other application and Infrastructure service owners to ensure robust and future proof services.
  • Support planning, including capacity, demand and performance needs over a 1-3 year horizon.
  • Work closely with supplier and vendor management to drive the right outcomes
  • Support the on boarding process of new requirements to ensure fit for purpose cloud specifications are adopted thereby adopting the right cost for the solution.
  • Adhere to group compliance with all security controls and processes and adherence to security policies and standards.
  • Report any potential security weakness, exposure, or suspicious indications to the Security Operations team.
  • Ensure DevOps and automation is applied to facilitate an effective and efficient cloud environment for application delivery and support.
  • Champion the adoption of an agile operating model and developing a new mindset within the team to work in a boundary less environment.
  • Be instrumental is ensuing the core infrastructure cloud elements are built out to enable a major business programme delivery.
Your attributes
  • Extensive working experience in a Cloud & Infrastructure Delivery Team Lead
  • Excellent Knowledge of performance evaluation techniques and key metrics.
  • Thorough understanding of Change Management.
  • Managing delivery in a cloud environment.
  • Working in an Agile / DevOps environment.
  • Proven history of leading/mentoring technology resources.
  • Proven experience leading support and strategy of an infrastructure environment.
  • Experience in multi-datacentre environments.
  • Experience in global transformation programmes.
  • Experience with best practices such as ITIL V3 & V4.
  • Leading a team through change, i.e. from an IT on premise environment to the cloud working closely with a Systems Integrator and Partners.
  • Familiarity with IaaS/ PaaS/SaaS/xaaS and Co-Lo Cloud business models, user experience, and multi-tenancy architecture a plus.
  • Proven experience as program director or other managerial position.
  • Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods.
  • Have 5+ years of experience in senior engineer server / cloud infrastructure role
  • Strong technical leadership combined with a deep understanding of complex and highly scalable architectures of enterprise infrastructure solutions.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of Infrastructure as a Service and Cloud based solutions.
  • IT Financial services experience desirable

  • Demonstrated experience in personnel management - persuasive, encouraging, and diplomatic.
  • Highly personable and able to help lead a change and handling employee job changes as a result.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.

  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.

  • Adept at conducting research into product and service-related issues.
  • Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies.
