As a Cloud System Administrator, your mission is to work alongside web and the application team to support transition and operation of all AWS services in Amazon Cloud. You will achieve this by designing and delivering effective Cloud solutions to support business requirements.
Required Skills:
To hit the ground running you will need;
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant hands-on experience cloud experience in administering Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Experience in creating VPC and NAT for AWS services
- Solid experience in cloud service solution design and dev-ops including network, security, microservices, database and IoT
- Experience scaling Cloud Architecture/environment to support increases in traffic
- Experience writing technical documentation, especially in relation to AWS architecture
- Experience with network and systems administration in Linux/Unix and/or Windows environments
- Experience working in an Agile environment
- Have automated security controls in AWS
- Experience working with offshore stakeholders would be highly desirable
- One or more Amazon or cloud platform certifications would be highly desirable
Principle Accountabilities:
- Understand business requirements then identify and implement effective & efficient cloud solution based on compute, data and security requirements
- Design, deploy and manage scalable, highly available, secured and fault tolerant services on AWS
- Manage security through VPC and NAT
- Manage and optimize databases and data warehouse on AWS (ie: MySQL, Aurora)
- Estimating AWS usage costs and identifying operational cost control mechanisms
- Provide user support - includes responding to inquiries regarding errors, problems or questions related to AWS
- Collaborate with the ICT Strategy and Architecture team to ensure cloud platforms are delivered in line with enterprise architecture principles.
- Establish and oversee governance practices which ensure cloud usage complies with better practice security and management goals.
- Review and make necessary changes to ensure all cloud services are compatible to AWS updates/upgrades
- Monitors all AWS services performance, highlight risks identified and provide solutions to improve system performance and customer experience
- Produce standard operating procedures (SOPs), checklists, risk and issues logs and required artifacts.
- Conduct presentations of technical information concerning specific projects.
- Ensure the company’s awareness of key technologies and make investment and partnering recommendations and decisions accordingly.
