Role Overview:
The Information Technology department is dedicated to supporting the client's business activities and projects by managing and developing their core network, Microsoft Server, M365, and UNIX infrastructure. A new permanent position as a Cloud Engineer has been created within the IT Infrastructure team, comprising 13 professionals with expertise in Windows, Unix, and Cloud Engineering, as well as support staff and contractors. The role focuses on ensuring the stability and uptime of the client's environment, with a critical capability to meet a 99.9% availability KPI.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and delivering the client's Cloud Strategy across multiple IT teams. Key accountabilities include mentoring other IT staff, actively engaging in the administration of core systems, providing technical support, contributing to projects, and assisting in the design of complex IT systems. Maintaining high standards of system documentation and fostering working relationships with internal and external stakeholders are also integral aspects of the role.
Candidate Requirements:
To be considered for this role, applicants must hold Australian Citizenship due to security clearances. A minimum of three years of experience as a Cloud Engineer is required, with a preference for candidates with experience in Azure. The client will also consider candidates with Google Cloud or AWS Cloud Engineering backgrounds. Essential qualifications include a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, and proven experience in Cloud Engineering, security, and privacy. Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) and familiarity with DevOps practices and tools are highly desirable.
