Established in 1982, we are a manufacturer and servicing centre of small tools for Railway Maintenance and Drilling industries in Newcastle. Our market leading equipment is used throughout Australia, and is recognized around the world, with our focus on growing internationally.
About the role
We currently have a vacancy for an experienced CNC machinist specializing in multi-axis turning/milling. The successful candidate will be required to programme and operate our Mazak Integrex and SQT lathes as well as help set, programme and run our other CNC machines. Experience with bar feeding, gantry and robot load systems will be an advantage but not essential. The position is full time and located in our Wallsend workshop. A trade qualification in machining or proven experience is preferred.
It would also be an advantage for the successful candidate to be apt with CAM packages - primarily HSM
It is critical that the selected candidate be safety focused, knowledgeable on CNC machining and setting techniques, well-presented and able to converse with supervisors and peers in a professional manner.
As we manufacture our products locally, during down times we focus on preparing inventory and sub-assemblies to reduce customer lead times on future orders.

Skills and experience
Essential skills
- Trade qualified, experienced with Mazak programing
- Print reading and interpretation
- CNC Programing in both ISO and conversational controls
- Drivers license
- Experience following written and verbal processes
- To be a quick learner who enjoys problem solving
- A track record of being able to prioritise your "to-do" list and adapt to daily demands
- Experience in working within a team
- Computer literate
- Own tools
- Must be a team player
Additional Skills
- CNC CAM based software experience (Autodesk HSM)
- Basic fitting skills
- Mig Welding
- Experience with MRP/ERP manufacturing software
