Requirements:
Bus/Coach Driver Duties:
- Safely operate buses or coaches to transport passengers to designated locations.
- Follow predetermined routes and schedules, adjusting for traffic or weather conditions.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting passengers with boarding, seating, and disembarking.
- Ensure the safety of passengers and adhere to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Report any mechanical issues or maintenance needs promptly to mechanics or supervisors.
- Maintain cleanliness of the bus interior and adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Handle payments and issue tickets when required.
- Maintain accurate records of mileage, trips, and passenger counts as necessary.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks on buses or coaches.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on buses or coaches.
- Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostic tests using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Identify worn or damaged parts and recommend replacements or repairs.
- Perform preventative maintenance to ensure vehicles are in optimal working condition.
- Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines while working on vehicles.
- Document all maintenance and repair work performed accurately and timely.
- Collaborate with other mechanics and drivers to address fleet maintenance needs efficiently.
- Stay updated with advancements in vehicle technology and maintenance practices.
Qualifications:
- Valid and clean Class C driver's license (or equivalent for Australia).
- Proven experience driving buses or coaches, preferably in remote or rugged terrain.
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Certification or relevant qualification in automotive mechanics or a related field.
- Proven experience as a bus or coach mechanic, including diagnostics, maintenance, and repair.
- Familiarity with diesel engines and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues efficiently.
