While we presently operate under a hybrid model with in office requirements on Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays, this can change at any time based on company needs.
Job Description
Baird is seeking a motivated and personable engineering or science student to join our team as an Intern in our Perth office. The selected candidate will be involved with various analysis and design aspects associated with marine, coastal, and port engineering projects. This position will support multiple offices worldwide.
It is anticipated the candidate will participate in the following project activities:
  • Working under supervising professional engineers, the candidate will:
  • Perform data analyses of metocean and environmental data.
  • Develop and apply skills in numerical modelling of coastal processes.
  • Participate in field data collection.
  • Assist with the preparation of project deliverables including technical reports, calculations, cost estimates, and drawings.
  • Undertake other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Ability to work part-time (10-20 hours per week) during the university year and full-time during summer/winter breaks.
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor level degree (or higher), specialising in civil, environmental, ocean sciences or water resources engineering or science equivalent.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite software.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills (English).
  • Flexible work style, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment, meet challenging deadlines and client needs.
Nice to Have Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as an intern in an engineering consulting firm
  • Knowledge and experience with GIS
