Come and join our supportive and progressive team as we deliver on our vision:“Noosa Shire – different by nature”The OpportunityThis position will efficiently and effectively manage coastal foreshores, rivers, canals and associated Council infrastructure, through the coordination, supervision and engagement of maintenance staff and contracted resources. In addition, the successful incumbent will coordinate and support delivery of a range of Council flooding related projects including flood management planning, mitigation activities and flood data management.Furthermore, the position will provide a high-level of technical advice to Council, employees and the community on foreshore, flooding, river and canal operations and related projects.Vacancy DetailsPosition Status: Permanent Full-Time Department: Infrastructure Services Branch: Civil and Asset Operations Advertised: Internal and External Position Remuneration: Level 6 ($111,279.83) total remuneration package which is inclusive of 12% employer superannuation and 17.5% leave loading based on a permanent full-time employeeClosing Date: 11:59pm (AEST) Sunday, 7 April 2024About YouTo undertake this position, you will have experience in providing technical advice and support relating to planning, design, construction and maintenance of coastal, canal and flood management infrastructure.You will possess knowledge of best practice in coastal and canal management, flood management, and associated environmental management. Furthermore, the successful incumbent will have extensive experience in coastal infrastructure planning, design and project management with the proven ability to effectively manage multiple projects concurrently.The position's focus will be:Develop and maintain Council’s Coastal and Foreshores Asset Management Plan including conducting relevant condition audits.Coordinate the day to day maintenance and renewal activities of various flooding, coastal and foreshore infrastructure including but not limited to:Beach Access InfrastructureNoosa Waters Lock & WeirBeach Management including Main Beach Sand Recycling SystemRevetment Walls, Groynes, Boat Ramps, and JettiesFlood Height and Rain Gauge Monitoring systemsMonitor and provide expert knowledge and advice on infrastructure maintenance and related projects. Coordinate and manage flooding related projects to ensure they meet quality standards and are delivered in a cost effective and timely manner.Manage Council’s flood model information including updating of Council’s Flood Information Repository and recording of data collected from flood debris surveys and maximum height gauges.Coordinate and implement Council’s Flood Management Plan including facilitating Council’s Flood Working Group.Work within Council’s Local Disaster Management Group (LDMG) to assist with providing up to date information and advice. Manage Council’s coastal and foreshore approval processes through liaising with other Council Departments, Government agencies, Council clients and staff to ensure that projects are planned, coordinated and implemented in accordance with statutory obligations and Council objectives.Prepare and undertake project briefs, design management, procurement, contractor negotiation, contract management, financial administration, record keeping, and other tasks as required for flooding and coastal management.Prepare and maintain project management plans and implement effective communication plans to ensure projects are appropriately managed and monitored for risks and issues as they arise. Undertake and/or facilitate condition assessments for the development and delivery of renewal and maintenance programs for the various flooding, coastal and canal infrastructure for Council’s Capital Works Program. Investigate problems, research new technology, carry out stakeholder consultation and recommend innovative and cost-effective solutions to Council.Monitor and provide guidance on other professionals’ work and/or the management of external consultants.
