About the role
You will be responsible for providing audit of clinical documentation, ICD-10-AM/ACHI assignment, and application of National and State Standards. The role includes taking direction from the Audit Coordinator regarding auditing activities while maintaining a high standard work ethic. The Coding & Documentation Auditor will undertake continual audits in accordance with the CALHN Audit Plan and provide support to seniors in education to coding staff on audit findings to ensure consistent quality and integrity of data, including raising issues relating to Casemix/Activity Based Funding (ABF) and contribute to timely APC data submission. This role contributes significantly toward the achievement of legitimate revenue optimisation, and improved data quality to accurately reflect the comprehensive casemix profile of Central Adelaide Local Health Network. Maintaining quality statistics, you will work closely with the Clinical Coding Manager, Documentation Improvement Manager, Manager Health Information Services and Executive as required.
You will have successfully completed Advanced ICD-10-AM, ACHI ACS Clinical Coding (HIMAA) or equivalent and have excellent knowledge of medical terminology. Demonstrating clinical coding experience in a large tertiary or quaternary healthcare facility, you will knowledge of comprehensive data analysis and interpretation. You must also be proficient in the use of patient administration software and standards and bring the ability to convey that knowledge to others. Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, will be essential. This will be evident in your ability to foster professional working relationships and operate effectively within a team environment.
