Located at Pickataramoor on Melville Island, Tiwi College is an exciting and dynamic secondary boarding school, initiated and governed by the Tiwi people to provide quality education for the young people of the islands. The college is located 60km away from the nearest community and in itself has become it's own community. The college requires an adept and experienced administrator for a 6-month assignment commencing asap. This is a varied and dynamic role, no two days will be the same! This is a unique opportunity to see and experience a place few people are lucky enough to visit, let alone be paid to live and work.Your new role
Provide a friendly and professional first point of contact in the college office during all operating hours
Monitor phones, answer and direct calls, assist with all enquiries where possible
Manage several email inboxes, respond, action or redirect where appropriate
Provide support to Principal with diary management, meeting preparation and other assistance as needed
Monitor and appropriately report all recorded student absences
Collaborate with teachers, administrators and support staff to ensure the smooth operation of the school
Manage payroll processes for all staff
Research and report on tender processes and other opportunities which could contribute to the betterment of the school
Monitor and manage stock levels of all consumables, including school uniforms
Manage registers of vital documentation including Ochre cards, First Aid certificates, student files, contracts and agreements
Prepare and onboard new staff and teachers
Demonstrate, support and promote cultural safety and inclusion
What you'll need to succeed
Strong administrative skill set including proficiency in all MS Suite programs
Minimum 2 years experience in an administrative and/or executive support role
Payroll administration experience essential
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple inboxes and calenders
Ability to relocate to Melville Island for a period of 6 months
Professional experience in an educational setting is preferred
A flexible, adaptable, proactive and resourceful nature
Ochre card essential
Full driver's licence preferred
