Lead the change, from the frontline
Based in Melbourne the Commercial Analystis responsible for providing strategic analysis and insights to support decision-making and drive profitability in the retail energy business. They will develop efficient pricing strategies, analyse market trends, and collaborate with various teams to optimise costs and develop new products. The role requires proven analytical skills, stakeholder management, and an understanding of the evolving pricing lands cape within the retail energy industry.
With respect, honesty and integrity you will:
- Support in the development of efficient pricing strategies to ensure cost recovery and revenue optimisation.
- Provide strategic analysis and direction for pricing events, including price changes and new market offers.
- Utilise the GM Forecast tool for portfolio and cohort specific reporting, ensuring consistency with assumptions from Customer and Finance teams.
- Produce monthly reports to highlight key trends and support the enhancement of scenario analysis capabilities.
- Work within the Strategy team to provide commercial insights and analysis for decision-making.
- Support the Senior Commercial analyst in scenario modelling, and ongoing financial forecasting requirements.
- Conduct analysis on usage and consumption patterns, carbon and green products, and distributed energy resources.
- Work closely with the Product team to ensure accurate and efficient pricing and product development.
- Support the business in maximising forecasting accuracy.
- Support retail business growth ambitions and provide insights for investment decisions.
Here’s what you’ll need to thrive in this role you will have:
- Retail or wholesale energy experience, preferably in commercially oriented roles.
- Deep analytical skills with the ability to oscillate between detail and high-level strategic perspectives.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills at all levels, including executive level.
- Proven stakeholder management skills, with the ability to interact with senior management and connect with all parts of the business.
- Proficient in developing, understanding, interpreting, and using commercial models.
- Ability to explain complex data and concepts to different audiences.
- Tenacity to challenge the status quo and bring logic to problem-solving.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to handle both strategic and tactical issues.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce, finance, or a related technical field or equivalent.
