The Role
Reporting to the Commercial Pricing Manager, the Commercial Analyst will provide expertise in SME and Mid-market Pricing Models, be adept at handling large tendering projects, ad hoc analytical projects, and rate cards. Your role will involve managing uprate rollouts, reviewing pricing mechanisms, and meticulously building up cost base and margin analysis. You will play a crucial role in reviewing RFQ and Tender documentation, ensuring competitiveness and accuracy. Additionally, your analytical prowess will shine as you delve into commercial analytics, providing valuable insights. If you have a keen eye for detail, a passion for pricing strategies, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, this is the role for you.
Duties will include, but not be limited to:-
- Conduct thorough due diligence to ensure accurate and competitive pricing strategies.
- Ensure cost compliance through meticulous analysis of cost data and benchmarks.
- Identify and advocate pricing sweet spots in the tenders and rates to maximize profitability.
- Robust scenario modelling (in Excel) with multiple variables and assumptions.
- Maintain strict adherence to pricing and corporate governance policies.
- Efficiently manage large volumes of data from diverse sources to support pricing decisions.
- Develop and maintain complex tender and financial models for pricing optimization.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for pricing queries, identify and address any gaps.
- Collaborate with various business divisions and market segments to align pricing strategies.
- Review customer contracts to optimize pricing structures.
- Monitor and analyse competitor pricing strategies to stay competitive.
- Establish strong relationships and liaise within the extended team, and local commercial business partners and National stakeholders.
- Conduct thorough risks and gaps analysis to mitigate potential pricing challenges.
- Prioritize teamwork, attention to detail, and timeliness in all pricing activities.
Skills and Experience
- Incredible attention to detail, Critical thinking, Open and Willing to ask sharp qualitative + quantitative questions, and learn, Solutions driven, Commercial mindset.
- Proven experience as a Pricing analyst (5+ years) in a fast-paced environment.
- Tertiary qualifications in IT, Engineering, business, commerce, or related studies.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, ERP, CRM, PowerBI and relevant accounting packages.
- Assertive with proven ability to build networks and manage relationships and establish credibility and influence across all layers of the company.
- Corporate Financial knowledge to consolidate results in a complex and multi-site business.
- Working knowledge of several business Software systems and processes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to think creatively, self-motivated and ability to perform well under tight deadlines.
