Financial Controller & Commercial Analyst (WFH)

We are seeking a skilled Financial Controller (Remote working) to support the CFO in all financial matters, including financial control, planning, and analysis. This key role involves managing the delivery from finance outsourced providers, covering everything from day-to-day financial accounting to strategic and commercial analysis.

The Financial Controller will provide financial information and analysis to support informed decision-making and drive strategy. You will oversee the daily financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.

Key Accountabilities:
Financial Accounting and Reporting:

• Lead and manage the month and year-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
• Monitor cash flow, manage working capital, and optimize the company’s financial position.
• Ensure robust financial controls and processes to safeguard company assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, systems, and tools, particularly in implementing FP&A software.
• Manage the quality of service delivered from outsourced providers, enhancing efficiency in accounting, payroll, tax, and compliance services.

Financial Planning and Analysis:

• Manage the delivery of multi-year plans, annual budgets, and forecasts, utilizing three-way models for P&L, Balance Sheet, and cash flow.
• Provide strategic analysis, insights, and recommendations to improve profitability and decision-making.
• Deliver key software metrics, dashboards, analysis, and reports to inform decision-making.
• Conduct financial modeling and evaluations of investment opportunities and internal project business cases.
• Contribute to strategic business planning processes with high-quality financial management advice.

Risk Management and Governance:

• Ensure compliance with relevant standards, financial management, accounting policies, and legal reporting requirements.

Legal and Ethical Compliance:

• Adhere to all legal and ethical boundaries, company policies, and community expectations.
• Uphold the highest standards of regulatory compliance and ethical conduct, proactively addressing legal and ethical challenges.

Selection Criteria:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial and commercial roles
• Qualified CA/CPA (or equivalent)
• Industry experience preferable: Technology
• Experience working in globally dispersed teams and environments, particularly remotely.
• IFRS experience preferable
• Experience managing outsourced provider partnerships and developing robust relationships that deliver business value.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to identify improvements, determine priorities, multi-task, and meet strict deadlines.

Please note that this is a full-time remote role. (Must be based on the East Coast of Australia).
