Salary Range $118,090.16 to $131,561.57 plus 11% superannuation

We currently have a terrific opportunity for a Commercial and Airport Operations Manager to join our Business Development team.

About this Role

You will effectively manage and operate the Latrobe Regional Airport (the Airport) as a leading, innovative, community owned business, providing employment, transport, emergency services and recreational activities for the citizens of Latrobe City and the wider Gippsland region. You will also be a key player in the development of Advanced Air Mobility at the Latrobe Aerospace Technology Precinct

The position objectives also include:

  • Ensuring the effective functioning of the Latrobe Regional Airport Community Asset Committee (LRACAC), including LRACAC meetings, workshops and sub-committees, providing innovative and visionary advice to the LRACAC and ensuring that the LRACAC's statutory and other reporting obligations are met.
  • Work with the Investment and Transition and Business and Industry Development teams to promote, advocate and market the Airport to potential users, tenants and other stakeholders to achieve significant sustainable growth.
  • Assist the development of the Latrobe Aerospace Technology Precinct to be a leading Advanced Air Mobility ecosystem in Australia
  • Manage the Airport's business and day to day operations to ensure that all aspects of the role are completed with the support of the broader organisation, including people management, financial budgeting and forecasting, administration and governance effectively to support the development of the Latrobe Regional Airport.
  • Providing support and guidance to tenants at the airport and the Latrobe Valley Aero Club.

About You

For this position, we are seeking an individual with demonstrated aviation business management skills to ensure that human resources, finance, administration and governance effectively support the Airport development and an understanding of airport operations and the ability to ensure compliance with all safety, regulation and compliance requirements.

You'll also need:

  • Understanding of the function of a Community Asset Committee within a local government setting, and the ability to manage the convening of meetings and workshops, ensuring effective communication and that reporting requirements are met in a timely manner
  • High level communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, including the LRACAC, Council employees and contractors, tenants and users, government and the community.
  • Tertiary qualifications in business, management or regional development; or equivalent extensive experience in both operational areas and management.
  • To hold a current Airport Reporting Officer certificate or be willing to obtain one within an agreed timeframe .
