This is a cross functional role, reporting directly to the Senior Director of BP&A. This role will not only partner with finance, it will closely collaborate with other key departments within the business such as the Commercial and Business development team, Marketing, Music Labels, Data and Insights, Physical and Merchandising departments, and Legal/ Royalties.The key focus for this role is on UMAs overall reporting and analytics capability. This will vary from analysing, reporting, and providing meaningful insights on key drivers and performance, as well as any ad-hoc commercial business requests, to facilitate and drive improved business outcomes.The analyst will have the opportunity to apply strategic and critical thinking in driving growth and profitability across the company’s diverse portfolio of businesses, including physical, digital, merchandising, D2C, and A&R.If you’re music obsessed, a team player and have an analytical mindset, apply now!About the role:
- Solid analytical and critical thinking skills: highly numerate professional with the ability to uncover patterns, trends, and stories within data, and derive meaning from ambiguity,
- Data modelling skills to analyse and organize sometimes large datasets of information from both internal and external sources,
- Abilities to develop ad-hoc analysis to represent impact to the business (e.g. profitability of a deal, financial impact of new deal terms, etc.),
- Ensure efficiency, effectiveness, and accuracy of reporting, delivered in a timely manner.
- Partnering with end users to ensure reporting meets stakeholder needs,
- Communicating key messages in a clear, structured, impactful way that supports business decision-making,
- Showing empathy and flexibility to understand your stakeholder point of view and build and maintain strong business partnerships.
- You will have at least two (2) years experience in a Commercial Finance role
- Degree qualified (preferred)
- Analytical mindset and able to derive insights from data
- Critical thinking and comfortable with ambiguity
- Experience using Microsoft Excel: strong
- Experience using Microsoft PowerPoint: medium- strong
- Exposure to reporting tools such as HFM desirable
- Exposure to analytics tools such as Domo desirable
