An exciting opportunity has become available to join a talented, highly motivated and engaged team as a Commercial Motor Underwriter.
The purpose of this role is to provide underwriting support for Commercial Motor transactions. Assist in the training, delegations and auditing of Underwriting across Commercial Motor products and processes, supporting the wider Underwriting across Suncorp NZ in all functions related to Commercial Motor.
What you'll do
- Assist in the monitoring and management of licences, delegations, training and auditing or Underwriting across the Commercial Motor portfolio.
- Support a move towards digitisation for the Commercial Motor portfolio from an Underwriting perspective.
- Help drive value for our customers and business partners by maximising sustainable profits and generating quality growth across the Commercial Motor portfolio.
- Support the development of new opportunities from an Underwriting perspective.
- Make it easy for our customers and business partners to do business with us.
- Lead and develop the capability of others across the organisation through effective coaching, mentoring, professional development and where required, performance management.
What you'll bring
- A degree in Business or Finance is desirable, along with Insurance experience.
- Experience in NZ/Global insurance or financial services market environment ideally within a Personal Insurance or Commercial Insurance context.
- Previous underwriting experience and skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to effectively resolve conflict.
- Consultation, influencing and negotiation capability.
- The ability to provide sound business advice and provide mentoring/coaching to others.
