With a focus on delivering commercial strategies that will keep our client one step ahead of the competition; the successful candidate will have an opportunity to shape the performance of the Retail Business unit.The successful candidate will have a high-profile role, with strategic insight, financial modeling and commercial analysis undertaken to ensure the creation of proposals and business cases to influence decision-making at senior management level.
This role also requires extensive stakeholder management within the Retail team and across various areas of the business including Commercial & Industrial Sales, Customer Service, Finance and Retail Marketing.
The key responsibilities of this role will include:
- Support the development and implementation of business strategies that will give the retail business clear direction of strategic intent
- Analysis of competitor intelligence to understand impacts on the business customer population
- Support the compilation and delivery of regular strategic reviews to ensure the business is maintaining appropriate strategic positioning
- Working with key stakeholders in the business to assess the impact of the retail strategy on their area and ensure alignment with goals
- Work closely with the retail team to co-ordinate activities across the business to optimise value growth and prioritisation
- Provide key support in any regulatory changes and assessment of options to ensure that outcome is in line with Retail Energy's long term strategy
- Through the development of Insight and analysis recommend and launch initiatives to support the strategy
- Managing relationships with all key stakeholders
- Involvement in any other ad-hoc work relating to the retail team
- Tertiary qualifications in a business or finance discipline from a recognised university (Masters / MBA would also be an advantage);
- Strong financial modelling skills;
- Experience of research, analysis and problem solving in projects of a strategic nature;
- Strong analytical skills combined with evidence of good commercial judgement;
- Experience of working on projects with multiple stakeholders;
- Strong business & commercial acumen;
- Ability to translate ideas and thoughts into compelling arguments with the ability to influence decision making;
- Strong interest in understanding customer and competitor behaviour; and
- Exceptional communicator, both verbally and through presentations.
