The role
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Property and Commercial Lawyer to join our dynamic team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will under the supervision of a partner and senior associate be responsible for handling a wide range of property and commercial law matters, providing expert legal advice, and representing our clients' interests with integrity and professionalism. This role offers the opportunity for career advancement with the potential to grow within the firm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a diverse caseload of property and commercial law matters, including but not limited to property transactions, commercial and retail leases, land and business sale contracts and commercial agreements including licensing agreements, joint venture agreements and partnership agreements.
  • Provide strategic legal advice and guidance to clients on complex legal issues, ensuring their interests are represented effectively.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to stay abreast of developments in property and commercial law and apply this knowledge to client matters.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and correspondence, with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Represent clients in negotiations, advocating for their rights and interests with professionalism and expertise.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication, responsiveness, and exceptional service delivery.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and other stakeholders within the firm to achieve common goals and deliver optimal outcomes for clients.
  • Contribute to the growth and development of the firm by actively participating in business development activities, networking events and marketing initiatives.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to professional development and continuous learning, staying updated on changes in legislation, industry trends and best practices.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Current New South Wales practising certificate.
  • Minimum of four years of post-admission experience primarily in property and commercial law, preferably gained within a reputable law firm environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex property and commercial law matters from inception to resolution, demonstrating strong analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly and persuasively.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Sound judgement and decision-making abilities, with a commitment to upholding the highest ethical standards and maintaining client confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and technology, including MS Office Suite and legal databases.
  • Demonstrated business acumen and a keen interest in contributing to the growth and success of the firm.
  • Willingness to embrace challenges, take initiative and seize opportunities for professional development and career advancement.
