If that's a yes, and you want a great work life balance with a small fun team, then an exciting career opportunity exists for a highly motivated Commis Chef to join the McLeod Country Golf Club.
As a Commis Chef you will be responsible for stock, completing mis-en-place, serving meals & washing up, and kitchen cleaning after the preparation & service. When the head chef is on annual leave you will be paid at the higher rate. Overtime and loading paid as per the MA000058 Award.
This role will be a rotation roster over 7 days a week dependant on functions/events. The club operates lunches 7 days week from 11am to 3pm, one Thursday night a month for Trivia, and Friday night dinners with 8pm last service. Events are occasional, and on Saturday's and last service of meals 9pm.
The roster has a good work-life balance. The best part is the opportunity for you to play golf with your Free Golf Membership that comes with your role.
The successful applicant will be confident in their skills, motivated to perform & will need to demonstrate:
- Working in all sections as allocated by your Head Chef
- Working with a small team including apprentices to assist in developing their skill set
- Conducting preparation ready for future service periods
- Maintaining a clean cooking section & following food safety protocol
- Assisting the Head Chef with daily tasks and functions
- Ability to cover the holiday leave of the Head Chef when required

- Have a genuine respect and passion for food
- Strong communication skills
- A positive and welcoming attitude
- A qualification in commercial cookery
- Willingness to learn
- High attention to details
