Commissioning Coordinator - Healthy Ageing and Care for Older People

Location | Flexible – Armidale, Erina, Newcastle, or Tamworth  
Hours | Full-time (1.0FTE, 38 hours/week) until 30 June 2025*

Annual full-time equivalent salary | $89,352- $97,189 + super + salary packaging**

About the role
Primary Health Networks (PHNs) received funding to support the Australian Government’s response to the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety (Royal Commission). The Royal Commission examined the complex issues being faced by senior Australians at the interface of the primary health care and aged care systems. 
This role will utilise their expertise and relationships with local health service providers to commission activities and interventions to support older Australians to live in the community for longer (including those not currently receiving aged care services) through initiatives that promote Healthy Ageing, slow decline and support the ongoing management of chronic conditions.
The Commissioning CoordinatorHealthy Ageing & Care for Older People will support HNECC PHNs goal of improving health outcomes for people living in the Hunter New England and Central Coast regions. Role responsibilities will include the coordination, design, commissioning, procurement and ongoing management of PHN funded services across the region to deliver services that promote best quality health care in our communities.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in health, social welfare, or business field.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including effective written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail and flexible in response to change. 
  • Demonstrated time management skill, with proven ability to deliver high quality outcomes in agreed timeframes.
  • Demonstrated ability to: work with stakeholders to achieve organisational/contract goals and performance & work independently and in a collaborative team.
  • High-level computer literacy with a range of software packages including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite.

Additional Information
*PHN's have been funded by the Department of Health since 2015. All roles at our PHN are maximum-term and linked to our funding contracts with the Department of Health. This is a maximum term contract until 30 June 2025 and any contract extensions are dependent on ongoing funding. 

**Salary: This role is classified as Grade I – M  within our Enterprise Agreement and the rate will be dependent on skills and experience/qualifications. New appointments are generally between grade I – K. 
 
The current PHN policy requires employees to have received 3 Primary doses of an approved COVID-19 Vaccination.
