Additional Information:
  • This role is permanent full time, based in IKEA Canberra ACT.
  • You have the availability to work one late night per week and one in four weekends (both Saturday and Sunday).
  • As part of the recruitment process this role requires a pre-employment check for final candidates.
Team vision ( title) About this work area
Team vision (text) As Communication & Interior Design Manager your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Lead, coach and develop a high performing team that actively contributes to the unit goals, whilst securing succession.
  • Play a pivotal role as part of the Senior Store Management team and act as a commercial business partner to proactively contribute to the local and national business plan and growth plan.
  • Create and secure the visual identity of the store and play an active role as the creative director to inspire our customers and co-workers through home furnishing.
  • Secure and champion inspiring range presentation solutions, an optimal store layout and effective and efficient store communication that builds the IKEA Brand and distance IKEA from the competition.
  • Lead and secure the implementation of local and global solutions within the store in collaboration with your team.
  • Build and deliver the IKEA retail foundation whilst contributing to establishing and strengthening test and try.
  • Support the store operationally and be responsible for Duty Manager shifts in store where required.

  • Experienced and have sound knowledge of Interior Design, Visual Merchandising and Graphic Design.
  • An experienced senior leader with ability to lead and develop successful high performing teams.
  • An inspirational leader with strong stakeholder management skills to influence and drive the growth agenda by maintaining customer focus and inspiration whilst maximising profitability.
  • Inherently driven, solution-focused and believe in challenging and finding ways to inspire our customer and co-workers through meeting and exceeding their needs.
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about Life at Home, current home furnishing trends, brand and visual identity.
  • Inspired, motivated and driven to position IKEA as a leading home furnishing retailer in the local market.
