The Communications Assistant is a new position to provide administrative support to the Director of Brand & Communications. They will help to implement brand and communication strategies and projects, with a priority on researching and scheduling Flying Doctor Podcast interviews and managing the podcast data base and production schedule. This role will be responsible for writing/editing of RFDS branding information for publications, digital channels and media releases, as well as the national RFDS Check-in and Check-up newsletters.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and finalise talent for the Flying Doctor Podcast (hosted by Director Brand & Communications) and provide guidance and assistance to talent so these interviews can be easily recorded and released.
- Manage the Flying Doctor Podcast recording schedule so that 40 podcasts are being recorded and released annually.
- Manage and maintain the Flying Doctor Podcast database and keep talent informed of their podcast results.
- Assist on the implementation of the national brand strategy and its associated projects.
- Write, edit and issue the RFDS Check-in and Check-up newsletters as per the approved schedule.
- Write and edit RFDS branding information for internal RFDS use, external publications and media releases.

- Experience with podcasting or the like
- Experience with external publications and media release writing
- Tertiary qualifications in marketing / communications or a related field
- Understanding of and commitment to the not-for-profit sector

- Part time vacancy of 3 days per week. Compulsory work day is a Tuesday to attend weekly staff meeting, however flexible on the other two days per week with working from home part week options available.
