About the Role
This role sits in our Communications team, reporting to the Senior Manager, Media and Communications, and contributes to Medicines Australia’s promise to deliver an exceptional experience for our members.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced events and communications officer to join Australia’s innovative pharmaceutical industry as part of a small team and take the next step in growing your career.
As our Communications and Events Officer, you will lead event planning and organisation for two major events that we deliver on behalf of the pharmaceutical industry: Horizon Scanning and PharmAus and coordinate our regular member events including webinars and forums.
Honing your writing and digital communication skills, you will also support our broader Stakeholder and Communications team with drafting and publishing external communication materials.
Key responsibilities include:
- Internal and external stakeholder engagement.
- Collaborating with external suppliers and vendors.
- Preparing events communication including promotion, reminders and event collateral.
- Registration management and preparing reports.
- Coordinating e-newsletters for members and stakeholders.
- Drafting social media posts and web content that is easy to understand and tailored to specific audiences.
About you

You will have:
- Relevant experience working in events and / or communications.
- Excellent attention to detail and writing skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage relationships at all levels.
- Ability to adapt to change and make a meaningful contribution to a high-performing team.
- Excellent coordination skills and be highly organised.
