PBE is seeking a motivated, hardworking and hands-on Field Service Technician who will deliver customer solutions in industrial communications across the Asia Pacific region supported by our fast-growing, private equity-backed global manufacturing company.
This position is located in Tomago NSW. You will also be working closely with our international Sales and Engineering teams and directly with customers. You will be a key member of the Australian Project delivery team.
As Field Service Technician you will be responsible for supporting PBE solutions and equipment for customers in implementation and ongoing technical support. This role would be suited to a University Graduate or a Trade Qualified Technician looking to further their knowledge and experience on the job with wide variety of projects and locations.
This role would suit a recent graduate of a Certificate III Electrotechnology.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Field installation and commissioning of analogue and digital two-way radio systems, radiating cable systems (leaky feeder), fibre optic infrastructure and other PBE products, software and systems
- Providing technical support and training to key stakeholders including customers, service providers and employees
- Providing troubleshooting support of software and systems remotely and in the field with the highest level of customer service
- Modifying existing equipment and systems to meet customer needs including the configuration and upgrade of related software and hardware
- Field coverage testing and verification of RF systems
- Participate in system design reviews and project meetings
Knowledge, Skills & Ability:
- Electrical/Electronics Engineering Degree or Trade
- Interest and knowledge in communications and safety systems
- Experience working on radio frequency communication systems.
- Supporting software experience, familiarity with programming and implementation
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, written and face to face
- Must have abstract reasoning, problem solving and creative thinking skills
Desirable Experience:
- Familiarity with radiating cable communication systems and fibre optic systems
- Knowledge of C, C++, C#, SQL, OOP, and Visual Studio Professional
Please note, regular travel is required with customer locations varying nationally and internationally.
This role would be suitable for experienced and entry level candidates.
