What's it all about?
Conveniently located in our Sydney Branch at Northmead we are looking for an experienced Electrical Fitter to join our service team responsible for servicing our customer’s machine tools via warranty, preventative maintenance, and break-down repairs.
You’ll be involved in all aspects of fitting both within the workshop and at our customer's place of business. You’ll also be inspecting, commissioning, installing, repairing, and maintaining industrial machinery.
You’ll be in frequent contact with Hare and Forbes customers and will need to be well spoken and well presented.
We’ll provide training and guidance, plus you’ll develop an extensive and impressive set of skills working with us.
What do you need to do in the role?
- 'A’ grade Australian electrical license essential.
- Experience with Industrial Machinery.
- Ability to quickly troubleshoot faults and establish repair options.
- Proven ability to carry out repair options quickly and efficiently.
- Ability to machine and manufacture minor components.
- Sound knowledge and experience in servicing electro-mechanical assemblies.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams and drawings.
- Knowledge and experience in machine tool alignments and accuracy.
- Knowledge and experience in hydraulics.
- Current Drivers’ License
What will you be doing?
- Installation and commissioning of industrial machinery.
- Preventative maintenance and servicing.
- Repair and breakdown service of industrial machinery.
- Workshop repairs and testing.
- Plasma cutting equipment commissioning, repair and maintenance.
- Reporting on service work – input of information into company databases to grow knowledge.
- Keeping detailed records of identified problems, processes to undertake repairs and parts required.
- Accurate time and record keeping – keeping accurate records to assist in fair billing of clientele.
Other desirable skills that would be helpful
- Experience with electronics and PLCs.
- Confident in the use of computers, and willing to adopt a flexible approach to working hours when required.
- Forklift license.
- Current First aid.
- Current Low Voltage Rescue and Resuscitation.
