Our Ergon Energy Network have multiple permanent opportunities for Communications Paraprofessionals to join the team located at Townsville.
About your new role:
As a Communications Paraprofessional you are responsible for undertaking installation, testing, repair and commissioning tasks limited to complex electrical/electronic and communications system components in a Transmission related environment. As well as developing and implementing plant and equipment modifications to overcome identified problems. You will be required to perform asset inspection and audit maintenance and responsible for the provision of a safe work environment through the identification, development and implementation of risk control measures.
The remuneration for your new role is from $139K plus 12.75% super for a 9-day fortnight and from $157k (which includes 13% loading) plus 12.75% super for a 10-day fortnight.

About you:
Critical to your success in the role:
  • You must have a relevant communications trade certificate.
  • You must be in the process or willing to obtain a AQF6 qualification (Associate Degree / Advanced Diploma) or equivalent in relevant Communications or Engineering field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the operation, maintenance and safety requirements of Secondary Systems and Communications in a Transmission substation environment.
  • Experience with telecommunications, radio, SCADA, optical fibre, multiplexing, and IP switching as well as demonstrated knowledge of operating principles, practical applications of substation control and communications systems in a Transmission substation environment.
You will be required to complete a pre-employment medical.
