Communications Technician | FIFO

This is an initial 3-5 month contract position, backfill a period of leave, an opportunity to join the Site Operational Technology team at MAC has become available.

This role would operate on 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth, paid 12 hours per day and at a competitive hourly rate.

In this role you will work with some of the following systems:

• Access control networks
• CCTV Systems
• AV/VC systems
• GPS base stations
• End user computing incl desktop support
• Digital radio systems - Tetra
• Fibre optic & networking
• Long-Term Evolution (LTE)
• In field trailer based communications networks

Trade certificate in Telecommunications, Radio Communications, Electronics & Communications or other related field

The key responsibilities for this role include:

• Ensuring day to day Availability of the sites Fleet Management, Wireless Telemetry Systems, Network and Server Infrastructure and Digital Radio System.
• You will be required to assist in the installation and maintenance of Wireless Telemetry Systems (WTS).
• Assisting in the installation and maintenance of Production and non-Production CCTV Systems, Fleet Management System, Physical Access Management System, Digital Radio System and/or other OT systems as the need arises.
• Identifying and implementing improvement initiatives that contribute to current and potential value to the business.
• Execute the Maintenance Work Plan as per schedule and relevant work instructions associated with the work orders.
• Provide input into root cause analysis and subsequent resolution of issues affecting equipment reliability.
• Strong engagement and creating a positive culture among execution teams.
