This is a Pool process with permanent part-time and fixed term part-time opportunities, with the possibility of extension, for a further 6 months and/or permanency, subject to business requirements.
Currently, there is 1 x 0.5 Part-time fixed term contract available for immediate filling.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Boronia Pre-release Centre for Women is a minimum-security institution in the suburb of Bentley. Numerous programs are offered to residents including community programs that encourage residents to reintegrate back into the local community. The Centre aims to facilitate the process of re-entry through strengthening family ties and preparing residents through access to offence focused and other rehabilitation programs. Boronia has a strong focus on community responsibility which is built by actively interacting with community members, both in the Centre and in the local community, to establish positive and mutually beneficial social networks.
The Community Activities Officer reports to the Assistant Superintendent Women's Services with responsibility for the day-to-day supervision and instruction of women participating in Section 95 programs. This will involve supervising day work parties from the centre, community projects, work for charity groups, and other activities central to the needs of women who are engaged in pre-release programmes.

POOL RECRUITMENT
This pool will be open for a period of 6 months from the day after the breach of standard claim period closes. Permanent, fixed term and part time appointments may be offered as vacancies arise; however, an appointment is not guaranteed.

ELIGIBILITY
- Possess a current valid Construction Induction Training accreditation (White Card) (if applicable).
- Possess a current ‘C’ class motor vehicle driver’s license.
- Possess a valid Senior First Aid qualification (or equivalent) received from an accredited training provider.
- Be willing to undertake training applicable to the role through the Department’s Training Academy.
