Location:  Kensington, NSW (Hybrid work)

Employment Type: Full Time, Continuing (35 hours)

Remuneration: Level 7 $106,351 - $115,103 (depending on experience) + 17% super + leave loading

Why Your Role Matters:

The Community Giving Officer will support the Senior Development Manager, Donor Experience to develop and execute a strategic annual fundraising program, increasing the number of donors and amount raised year on year. 

The position will play an important role in delivering UNSW’s Donor Experience strategy by creating and implementing ways to inspire, cultivate, engage, diversify and grow our community of 4,500+ annual donors. 

The Community Giving Officer reports to the Senior Development Manager, Donor Experience and has no direct reports.  

Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with the Senior Development Manager, Donor Experience, contribute towards and manage the delivery of fundraising campaigns, communications and associated initiatives, while creating meaningful experiences.
  • Document and research appeal topics and associated strategies; present appeal concepts, appeal results and suggest improvements and other related project information to Senior Leadership, Development Teams and other audiences as required. 
  • Proactively monitor, review, analyse and report on appeal performance, review risks, and provide insights as to how initiatives can be improved. 
  • Take ownership of the administrative, technical and operational processes required to successfully deliver the Community Giving program, including working with the Donor Services team to advise on and use various technical applications (such as Mailchimp, Raisley, Adobe/Google Analytics, Raiser’s Edge and RunGopher).  
  • Act as the primary contact for key internal and external stakeholders for Community Giving activity, maintaining effective channels of communication, analysing requests, providing advice and responding to urgent and often sensitive matters when required.
  • Support in the review, development and execution of a new Staff Giving engagement program.

Who You Are:                                                                                     

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and extensive experience in fundraising and/or marketing, preferably in a higher education setting, or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training and/or experience. 
  • Proven track record of delivering successful Community Giving fundraising programs. 
  • Demonstrated project experience to confidently manage the end-to-end appeals process and other related initiatives. 
  • Excellent stakeholder management and the ability to establish positive relationships. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and passion for making a difference.
  • Considerable technical expertise including proficiency in Raisers Edge, Tableau, Mailchimp, Adobe/Google Analytics, Raisely, RunGopher or similar.
